The Connie Henke Yarbro Oncology Nursing History Center Intern will complete surveying, processing, arranging, and describing an archival collection that may include photographs, documents, publications, and 3D objects. This is an in-office, paid position.

This part-time temporary internship (10-12 hours per week) will be scheduled between September 8th and December 12th, 2025 (14 weeks; 140-168 hours total). The intern will work during regular office hours; weekly hours are flexible but must coincide with department office hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Internship Description 

Essential Functions (work may include, but is not limited to): 

• Surveying, processing, arranging, and describing an archival collection that may include photographs, documents, publications, and 3D objects.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Will work under the supervision of the History Center Director.

Position Requirements 

Interested candidates must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at the time of their internship, and selected interns will need to provide a letter from their school verifying enrollment. 

• Master’s candidate in library and information science, public history, humanities, museum studies, or related discipline.
• Have an interest in collections management, archives, and historic preservation.
• Comfortable handling potentially fragile collection materials.
• Familiarity with metadata creation and use for archival materials.
• Ability to work and manage tasks and projects independently.
• Ability to accurately manage files and tasks through verbal and written instructions.
• Strong verbal communication skills to ask questions and to seek support from colleagues or a supervisor.
• Ability to get to and from ONE headquarters (125 Enterprise Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15275) to complete work.

Education  

Master’s candidate in library and information science, public history, humanities, museum studies, or related discipline.

Pay Range 

Oncology Nursing Enterprise (ONE) uses a market-based approach to pay. Pay rates are established considering the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified periodically based on market analysis. 

Anticipated Pay Range: $25.00/hour
