COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The hourly rate for this full-time position is $10.00. Benefits are not provided for this type of temporary employment.
 

THE ROLE
WQED is seeking a summer intern to assist with various projects in Broadcast Engineering and Information Technology at the studio. This role will report up to the Managing Director, Engineering and Technology and will perform project work with staff in various departments such as Engineering, IT, and Production.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to)

• At the direction of the Managing Director of Engineering & Technology, perform all tasks related to developing an Enterprise-wide Asset list, including tracking, logging, and tagging identified equipment assets.
• Conduct installation, research, documentation, and other tasks.
• Assist in the design and implementation of improvements to WQED’s operation.
• Update technical plan documentation when installations are completed.
• Assist in the de-commissioning and removal of equipment
• Remain current on the developments and applications of state-of-the-art broadcast engineering technology.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS (including, but not limited to)

• Associate’s degree in electronics and/or completion of a certificate program in electronics from an accredited technical institute preferred. Alternatively, enrollment in a degreed/certificate program of the same nature will be considered as well.
• Strong knowledge of IT, data networking, and network attached storage systems, as well as general technical knowledge of audio, video, and computing system.
• Excellent communication skills are necessary.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
This position requires physical activities that could involve standing, walking, lifting, and other movements. Candidates should be aware that the nature of the job may require physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that involve moderate to strenuous physical exertion.
