GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
This is a temporary hourly intern position working no more than 20 hours per week. Work involves a variety of entry level functions dealing with building maintenance. Intern must demonstrate a basic working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and their uses to conduct Preventive Maintenance (PM) or repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as general maintenance repairs which include but not limited to windows, doors, locks, drywall, flooring, and concrete in or at various County buildings. Intern must demonstrate a basic working knowledge of computer skills and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
As a Facilities Maintenance Intern, you will assist the (4) maintenance teams in budgeting, planning, and executing daily work orders. You will assist skilled Technicians at different levels (I, II, & III), with various daily tasks such as PM’s, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and General Maintenance. Intern will assist Technicians in communicating to stakeholders and building occupants the status of each work order request. Which includes estimated start and finish times, as well as progression of work order between start and finish.

Must be enrolled in a program pursuing a degree in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, or General Contractor or related degree.
