JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated Summer Research Intern – Global Cannabis Policy & Market Insights to conduct research and analysis of cannabis regulatory frameworks around the world and assist in the development of an International Cannabis Fact Book. This resource will serve as a critical tool for business development and strategic decision-making. The intern will conduct in-depth research on cannabis regulations across various countries, analyzing legal frameworks, market conditions, and industry trends.
This is a great 3-month paid internship opportunity for third or fourth-year students, as well as new graduates looking for real-world project-based experience.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct comprehensive research on cannabis laws, regulations, and market structures in different countries.
- Analyze key aspects such as licensing, taxation, distribution models, import/export laws, and restrictions.
- Summarize findings into clear, concise country profiles for inclusion in the Fact Book.
- Track regulatory updates and emerging trends in the global cannabis industry.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance of the research.
- Assist in the development of visual data representations (charts, tables, infographics).
- Present research findings to internal stakeholders as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current undergraduate student in law, public policy, business, healthcare, international relations, or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent writing and communication abilities.
- Proven professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and relationship-building skills
- Attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Interest in international business, regulatory affairs, or the cannabis industry is a plus.
