Our Opportunity

 

We are looking for an Intern I for our Magnolia, MS Retail Agronomy Location. 

GreenPoint Ag invites driven and motivated individuals to become part of our team as an Intern I during the Summer of 2025. As a paid intern, you will collaborate closely with a seasoned mentor who will guide you through practical, hands-on projects and daily responsibilities within the field of agronomy. Interns will have the opportunity to apply their experience to authentic work assignments and acquire essential skills necessary for a successful career.

 

Essential Functions / Job Duties

 

  • Follow all safety regulations and guidelines
  • Use appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing) when working with hazardous materials
  • A well-rounded understanding of the agricultural industry
  • Work with local teams to understand and support various departments’ warehouse, agronomy, sales, Ag technology and marketing
  • May Handle and store hazardous materials (pesticides, fertilizers, chemicals) in compliance with safety regulations
  • Perform regular warehouse duties, including product storage, staging, and bagging
  • Drive a forklift to transport inbound and outbound products
  • Organize products following local procedures
  • A well-rounded understanding of the agricultural industry
  • Develop relationships with farmers/staff to learn how to effectively identify and meet their needs
  • Performs all other job-related functions as assigned
  • Provides excellent customer service and support of GreenPoint Ag
  • Always Represents GreenPoint Ag in a professional manner

  • No supervisory responsibilities

Required Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Ag Engineering, Marketing, or other closely related field of study
  • Aptitude for continuous learning and growth as well as effective communication skills are imperative

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, and creativity
  • Ability to work through technology strategies, both retail and customer focused
  • Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated and self-starter skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and/or projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) preferred
  • Current driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
  • Ability to communicate with associates and customers
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation

 

Work Environment

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in both indoor and outside work environments. Frequently exposed to extreme cold and hot temperatures, wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.  May be exposed to hazardous work conditions associated agricultural, warehouse, or industrial environment.

 

Physical Demands

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and hear. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. The employee is also regularly required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
