Product Engineering Intern (Summer 2023)

At Danfoss Power Solutions, we are hiring an Product Engineering Intern in Ames, Iowa for the Summer 2023 term. In this role you will support cross-functional initiatives to improve cost, quality, delivery, and market share. Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

• Work with engineers to improve current products and resolve issues 
• Participate in product design reviews
• Support engineering changes to help maintain product design control
• Resolve product performance issues through team-oriented problem solving and root cause analysis
• Deliver technical support to other functional areas (i.e., sales, manufacturing marketing, service, quality, procurement) and external customers and suppliers
• Develop and execute tests to analyze engineering data and summarize the findings to the organization in support of engineering projects
• Learn key manufacturing processes as they relate to machining and Design for Manufacturability

Background & Skills

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Agricultural preferred, Electrical or Aerospace also accepted)

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently in Junior or Senior year of Bachelor’s degree program
• Curious mindset and eagerness to learn by actively seeking input to achieve team objectives
• Experience working collaboratively within groups or teams
• Exposure to mechanical engineering or agricultural engineering
• Experience working with model-based design tools such as MATLAB/Simulink/CAD
