Start-Up Internship

Bulqit
Internship
On-site
Evanston, Illinois, United States

We’re an early-stage, self-funded startup operating in stealth mode—founded by two entrepreneurs with multiple successful exits across wildly different industries. We’re building a high-impact SaaS platform to disrupt a massive, fragmented market, and we’ve got real momentum.

We’ve been deep in this for over a year, and launch is in sight. Now we’re ready to bring on our very first interns—ideally the kind of curious, resourceful, future-founder types who thrive in early-stage chaos and want a front-row seat to the action.

This isn’t just another internship. You’ll help shape the product, culture, and direction of a company from day one. You’ll work directly with both founders—one a visionary with nonstop ideas and a deep network, the other a seasoned operator who’s scaled companies and knows how to do it again.

We move fast, think deeply, and care way too much about doing excellent work. If you do too—read on.

How We Work

We believe in autonomy with accountability. You’ll have the freedom to lead and build—but also the responsibility to deliver and raise the bar. If you show up with hunger and hustle, we’ll hand you real projects—not busywork.

We’re big believers in in-person energy. Our home base is split between Industrious in Evanston and mHUB in Chicago’s Fulton Market. Because, let’s be honest, the best ideas rarely happen over Zoom.

We’re building a tight, exceptional team. No fluff. No politics. Just sharp people doing meaningful work.

TL;DR

Come help build a company, learn a ton, and do actual impactful work. You won’t be bored. You will leave better.

Sound like your kind of internship?

Role Overview: Startup Intern (aka Future Swiss Army Knife)

We’re a stealth-mode startup reinventing how neighborhoods buy home services—and we’re doing it with brains, grit, and a little chaos. We’re looking for 2-4 curious, hands-on interns to help us build the rocket ship while it’s taking off.

If you’re the kind of person who never sits on the sidelines…

If you’re more “figure it out” than “follow the manual”…

If you want to see how startups really get built…

Then let’s talk.

What You’ll Do

  • Product & Ops: Test features, QA like a beast, flag bugs, and spot broken stuff before our users do.
  • Growth & Marketing: Research markets, help build launch plans, interview early users, and create campaigns that don’t suck.
  • Design & Brand: If you’ve got visual chops, jump in. If not, help keep the creative trains running on time.
  • Tech & Tools: Into Notion, Airtable, Zapier, or GPT hacks? Help us build automations that save hours every week.
  • Wildcard Projects: You might run a competitor teardown in the morning, source TikTok creators after lunch, and tag CRM leads by dinner.

If you’ve got a “superpower” (writing, design, code, data, ops, legal, sales, research)—we’ll give you space to use it.

What You’ll Get

  • Insider Access: Work side-by-side with two founders who’ve built and sold real companies. You’ll have your own desk, your own voice, and real responsibility.
  • Startup Reps: See—and influence—every part of what it takes to build a SaaS platform from scratch.
  • Mentorship (No Babysitting): We’ll teach you the ropes, then let you own stuff. You’ll leave sharper, savvier, and 10x more hireable.
  • Formal Programming: We’ve mentored 100+ interns before (shoutout to Northwestern), and we’ll support your personal and professional growth every step of the way—with feedback, workshops, and guidance long after the internship ends.
  • Network + Visibility: Between mHUB and Evanston’s Industrious, you’ll be immersed in Chicago’s startup scene, meeting other founders, creators, and tech nerds building the future.
  • Future Opportunities: Blow us away, and this can lead to paid project work, a part-time role during school, or even a full-time offer. If you’re truly exceptional, equity and a long-term role are on the table.

What We’re Looking For

  • You’re smart, curious, and action-oriented.
  • You’ve probably built something before—club, side hustle, spreadsheet-from-hell, whatever.
  • You’re allergic to cubicle life and corporate BS.
  • You can Google your way through any problem.
  • You want a real experience, not just another bullet point.

Details

  • Timeframe: Summer cohort of 2-4 interns. Flexible scheduling—we’ll make it work around classes or other gigs.
  • Location: In-person preferred (mHUB in Chicago or Industrious in Evanston). Hybrid flexibility if you’re a self-starter.
  • Compensation: Unpaid, but we’ll support school credit and career goals. If you’re great, we’ll make sure it counts.
  • Future Potential: Yes—this could absolutely lead to something more. We’re here to invest in the right people.
