Summer Technology Intern

Cedar Springs Public Schools is excited to engage with qualified applicants for the position of Summer Technology Intern.

SUMMARY:
Provides support for technology devices and software for staff and students.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Inventory, deploy, repair, clean, and decommission computational devices.
• Deploys computer images to Windows and Mac OS X devices.
• Participates in help desk / customer support activities for the department.
• Moves and relocates equipment.
• Maintains and updates end user documentation for desktop support.
• Supports all Cedar Springs and local district standard technologies.
• Regular, predictable attendance. 
• OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, to communicate clearly, think creatively and relate well with other team members
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn about new software and hardware.
• Knowledge of multiple operating systems: Windows 10, Mac OS X,  and Chrome OS,
• Ability to upgrade computer hardware.
• Microsoft and ChromeOS experience
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is continuously repeating the same hand, arm or finger motion many times. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as computers or printers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision and the ability to adjust focus.  This position requires the individual to travel and/or drive to various off-site locations.

The noise level in the work environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day. The employee may be required to be outdoors for periods of time, and therefore subject to varying weather conditions, for purposes of accomplishing the essential functions of this job.

WORK SCHEDULE: M-F, 8:00am - 3:30pm, June 9th-August 15th, 2025

WAGE: $15 per hour
