INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
The Vehicle and Hydraulic Mechanic intern is a full time, temporary member of the Operations team at Blue Ridge Energy for 12 weeks. The intern will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of projects. This opportunity is available at our Ashe district location.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Must be certified or a current student in diesel and heavy equipment technology or other correlated program with some knowledge and experience related to general vehicle mechanic procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
The intern will be employed by and paid by a temporary employment agency; therefore, candidates must meet the requirements of Blue Ridge Energy and the hiring agency. The individual should be 18 years or older by the start of the internship, have a valid US driver's license, good driving record, and pass a pre-employment screening that includes a background check and drug screen. Minimal, but some travel, within our service area, during and after hours, may be required. Intern must follow company safety standards. Preferred candidate would reside within Blue Ridge Energy's service area and within 30 minutes of the district location.
