    Experience:
    • Required: Three (3) years' experience in accounting and finance
    • Preferred: Experience with Texas School District or other Governmental entity and/or auditing experience
    Technology Proficiency: Level 2 - Applied
    • Use of Computer operations
    • Use of software productivity tools (i.e., Microsoft Office and Google Workspace)
    • Use of printers
    • Use of multimedia tools
    • Use of e-mail
    • Use of Job-related financial and student management system
    • Use of electronic file management
    • Proficient in job-related financial systems applications
    • CCISD Acceptable Use Policy and Technology Ethics/Etiquette
    Personal Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of generally accepted government auditing standards, generally accepted accounting principles for state and local governments, Texas Education Agency accounting and reporting guidelines, sales tax laws and regulations, and effective internal controls
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proficient in the use of personal computer and the use of spreadsheet software for financial analysis and reporting
    • Knowledge of word processing and presentation software for reporting and communicating to others
    • Ability to exercise intiative and make firm and impartial decisions based on policies and sound accounting or business practices
    • Ability to organize information in an effective manner
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals
    • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
    • Must be able to drive to various locations within the school district
    Function:  Assist the Internal Auditor in conducting reviews of organizational and functional activities in accordance with Board policies and procedures and according to the board approved internal audit plan

    Reports To:  Internal Auditor

    Responsibilities:
    • Assist the Internal Auditor in conducting audits in a professional manner in accordance with the established audit program and the approved audit plan
    • Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidential data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequency and effectiveness of the controls being tested and the efficiency and reliability of the activities being reviewed
    • Inform the Internal Auditor of any issues that arise in the course of the audit in a timely manner
    • Prepare detailed work papers to document audits performed and reports issued
    • Assist in preparing formal written reports expressing an overall opinion on the function being reviewed and provide constructive recommendations to improve controls designed to safeguard District resources to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
    • Assist in conducting follow-up reviews of recommendations implemented
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Salary range is $223.11 to $324.41 daily (individual daily rate calculation is based on applicable experience).
