We are Aspire Living & Learning, a non-profit human services agency making a meaningful difference in the lives of adults and children with autism and other disabilities.
Aspire Living & Learning is currently seeking interns to work out of one of our Approved Private Special Education Programs in Cheshire, CT providing services to children who have been outplaced to our program due to social, behavioral, and/or academic needs.
Position Type: Psychologist Intern
Schedule: Hours of operation (Monday – Friday, 7am – 3pm), depending on program requirements
Job Purpose:
The Psychologist Intern at Aspire Living & Learning will have access to enriching learning and training experiences across our private outplacement academies, clinic-based setting, and school-based consultations. The Intern will also participate in monthly didactic trainings as part of the Connecticut Psychology Consortium.
Key Responsibilities:
The psychologist intern at Aspire Living & Learning will have access to a variety of different training experiences, including participation in internship related activities at Aspire’s private outplacement academies, public school-based consultation sites, and mental health clinic. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed psychologist, the intern will complete evaluations and develop a summary report, deliver group based therapeutic intervention, and individual therapy. The intern will also participate in monthly didactic trainings with other Connecticut Psychology Consortium interns.
Qualifications:
The individual must be enrolled in a doctoral program in either clinical or school psychology and match with the Aspire Internship Program (part of the Connecticut Psychology Consortium) through the APPIC match process.
