Position Summary:
The Asset Management Intern will create and manage the inventory system and necessary record and tracking programs as well as monitor those programs and system as well as assist in various operations departments as needed.
Major Roles &Responsibilities:
• Issue tools, parts, and supplies to the Operations and Maintenance team members
• Maintain perpetual records/inventory of issued material, returned material, and monitor the inventory
• Notify Purchasing department when replacements parts or tools are needed and track that inventory
• Receive and store tools, parts and supplies through a barcode inventory system.
• Work with purchasing Manager for Justification of purchases.
• Locate lost or misplaced tools, parts and supplies
• Inspect and measure tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to Manager and/or Construction Supervisor
• Repair, service, and lubricate tools and equipment
• Provide reports as necessary to appropriate staff
• Mark and identify tools and equipment using identification tags, or stamps or electric marking tool
• Observe and learn BioSpectra procedures and documentation
• Maintains good housekeeping practices
• Wears appropriate PPE for the duties being performed
• Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by management
Qualifications:
• Must have strong computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Emaint, Sage, to keep accurate inventory and tracking records
• Ability to learn cGMP, QA program and Safety programs
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must have general familiarity with tools and parts
• Must be able to lift, twist, push, pull, climb, crawl, bend, and carry throughout the shift
• Works well independently and as a team
• Forklift experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Sitting/Standing/Moving- Sitting and standing up to 10 hours daily. Alternating between sitting and standing up to 10 hours. Walking up to 10 hours, 2 miles.
• Lifting & Moving- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds repeated multiple times a shift. Must be able to move carts, push and pull hand trucks, and bins containing objects weighing up to 100 pounds multiple times throughout a shift.
• Other Movements- Frequent bending and reaching required multiple times throughout a shift along with a moderate amount of crouching, stooping and kneeling throughout shift. Occasional crawling throughout shift. Occasionally must climb stairs with tools. Use of multiple flights of stairs, ramps used throughout shift.
• Other Physical Requirements- Occasional local travel to support other sites. Operation of forklift throughout shift. Use of computer and keyboard used throughout shift. Use of scanners, typing and hand writing throughout shift. Moving feet and legs regularly, walking, standing and driving.
• Speaking, Hearing & Visual- Must be able to speak clearly and communicate with others. Hearing is required constantly throughout shift. Must be able to see near, distant, and peripheral objects all the time.
• Environmental- Seasonal exposure outside. Occasional warm climates indoors. Temperatures will vary with conditions and tasks. Exposure to exterior noise as well as truck and forklift noise. Must be able to put on personal protective equipment throughout shift.
• Cognitive- Must learn new policies, procedures, retain and perform tasks assigned. Must maintain focus, be alert and aware at all times.
