Position Summary

The Engineering Intern at SPP Pumps Inc will support the engineering team in various projects and tasks, providing valuable technical assistance and gaining hands-on experience in the field of engineering. This role is designed to offer practical exposure to engineering concepts and practices, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers to conduct research and gather data for project planning.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  • Data entry for QR codes
  • Create Selection tools for pump components
  • Use excel and other software for engineering functions
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and challenges.
  • Conduct analysis and evaluation of engineering processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of engineering systems and equipment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies while performing engineering tasks.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance engineering.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in an engineering role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles and practices through coursework or projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world scenarios.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools such as CAD, SolidWorks or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and present findings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies within the engineering field.
