Our client, a well-regarded international law firm, is looking for an International Tax Accountant to support the global tax department. The role involves handling tax compliance tasks, including completing and filing tax returns, making accurate payments, and assisting with ad hoc projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Compile, review, and analyze financial data for international tax returns.
- Prepare accurate work papers to support tax filings.
- Assist in domestic tax compliance (data compilation, workpapers, quarterly payments, responding to notices, etc.).
- Provide technical analysis and apply partnership tax rules.
- Develop expertise in the Firm's general ledger system for data analysis, compilation, and reconciliation.
- Analyze partner taxes paid/withheld and prepare partner allocations.
- Calculate entity and partner level quarterly estimated taxes, prepare check requests, partner memos, and other deliverables.
- Perform tax research and stay current on tax law developments.
- Communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.
- Manage Firm resources responsibly and comply with Firm policies.
- Perform other related duties, including administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and capable of learning new software.
- Experience with CCH Pro System FX and online tax research tools (CCH, RIA, BNA).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in virtual teams.
- Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, analytical, planning, and project management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet business needs.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of three years of partnership tax compliance experience.
