What You Can Look Forward To:

Energy Recovery, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for an immediate summer internship opening with the Product and Sustaining team in the San Leandro, CA facility. You will work with the Product & Sustaining Engineering team, the group that owns our product lines after initial launch. Under the mentorship of senior engineers you will touch every part of the product life-cycle, documentation, design updates, failure analysis, and factory support—while building real-world skills that classrooms do not teach.

What Will You Do?

    • Build New-Product-Introduction (NPI) document packages-curves, Technical Data Sheets, specifications, IOM manuals, and spare-parts lists-for upcoming product releases.
    • Support failure analysis by gathering data and assisting with preliminary root-cause investigations on returned units.
    • Update BOMs, drawings, and CAD models in our system and make sure released data is clean and complete.
    • Review NCMR and manufacturing-deviation reports; capture go/no-go tolerances that help Quality decide if a part can ship.
    • Assist with test-loop preparation and data logging for factory acceptance tests of new designs.

What You Bring to the Table:

    • Enrolled in a BS program in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with at least two years completed.
    • Coursework or project experience with SolidWorks or Onshape
    • Familiarity with basic mechanics of materials and fluid dynamics; FEA or CFD classwork
    • Familiarity with use of a commercial FEA tool such as ANSYS for structural analysis.
    • Detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable asking questions.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
