Power BI Analytics Intern
The Power BI Analytics Intern at UDT will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role is ideal for a high-achieving college student (3.5 GPA or higher) seeking hands-on experience in data visualization, dashboard development, and business analytics. Over the 10-week internship, the intern will work approximately 20 hours per week, contributing to real-world projects that impact decision-making across departments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data, eager to learn, and capable of applying analytical thinking to support business initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
• Assist with the design, development, and deployment of Power BI reports and dashboards to visualize key business metrics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements.
• Prepare, clean, and transform data from various sources to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Support ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of existing Power BI reports and data models.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve reporting processes and data insights.
• Document report definitions, data models, and procedures for future reference.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director or Analytics Team Leads.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a college or university program pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Basic understanding of data visualization principles and Power BI (or similar BI tools such as Tableau or Qlik).
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and SQL is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in a hybrid or remote environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
