The HireMilitary DoD SkillBridge / Career Skills Program (CSP) Internship is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29 as enacted by 10 U.S.C. Sec 1143. Eligibility is restricted to members of the U.S. Armed Forces separating honorably with greater than 180 days of continuous Active Duty. SkillBridge/CSP period of eligibility is within the final 180 days of Active Duty service, and the SkillBridge/CSP must be completed prior to separation from Active Duty in the U.S. Armed Forces. HireMilitary DoD SkillBridge/CSP is open to members of all services, and all ranks and experience levels. Service members should fully review SkillBridge/CSP Position Description for individual opportunity requirements and qualifications.
SkillBridge participants participate in full time training with industry (40 hour work week) under military orders and are not eligible for compensation from HireMilitary or its partner host employers but will continue to receive all military wages and benefits for the period of the DoD SkillBridge/CSP enrollment.

The core mission of the Lead HVAC Installer is responsible for executing timely, quality installs for the customer.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Perform installation of HVAC related equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications
· Carry out wiring of both low and line voltage to cooling and heating equipment
· Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering
· Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in light commercial and residential buildings
· Ensure connection of gas lines to heating equipment is properly done
· Installs thermostats to control HVAC system
· Receive all materials and equipment required for each job, confirm, and load them into company vehicle
· Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management
· Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with both superiors and co-workers
· Ensure all paperwork needed for each job is accurately filled out
· Carry out readings on machines with the full understanding of the implication of such readings
· Trucks must be neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times. The truck is one of the best billboards that the company has. Park the truck for the maximum impact of the “billboard” when possible.
· Train installation assistants, teaching them to work independently for maximum installation efficiency.
· Fill out installation paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
· Obey company Code of Ethics and the Team Rules
· High school diploma/GED required
· Have a valid Driver’s License and driving record within current MVR guidelines
· Must pass pre-employment testing for all illegal substances in the State of Washington
· Minimum 1 year experience installing HVAC units
· Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Ability to use power and hand tools.
· Ability to use thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC system.
· Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC systems.
· Ability to follow instructions.
· Excellent mechanical skills.
Physical Demands:
· Working from heights above 4ft, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, etc.
· Lifting 75lbs on a regular basis
· Pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, use of both hands and arms, kneeling, squatting, standing and or walking for extended periods
· Ability to climb ladders and work from roofs and scaffolding
· Wearing personal protective equipment
· Operating handheld power tools
· Wearing personal protective equipment
· Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day
Working Environment:
· Work both indoors and outdoors
· Exposure to extreme temperatures both hot and cold
· May be in proximity to hazardous conditions, equipment
· Possible exposure to moderate levels of noise
· Possible exposure to wildlife - birds, rodents, etc.
· Will be exposed to very bright or inadequate lighting conditions
· Must be able to work in cramped workplaces, such as crawl spaces under floors.
