PURPOSE OF POSITION 

As an Industrial Engineer Intern at Press-Seal Corporation, you will actively participate in projects that optimize manufacturing processes, enhance productivity, and reduce costs. This internship provides hands-on experience in analyzing workflows, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and improving production efficiency. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will gain valuable skills and contribute to achieving operational excellence.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 


Process Optimization and Workflow Improvement:

  • Analyze and design efficient workflows and production layouts to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and enhance productivity.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop detailed technical reports, charts, and diagrams to support process enhancements.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve operational challenges.
  • Contribute to safety, quality, and productivity improvement initiatives.

Testing and Validation:

  • Support the testing and validation of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Document results and propose recommendations for further optimization.

Learning and Development:

  • Gain proficiency in industry tools and software, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles and statistical process control (SPC).

Other duties as assigned

  • Assist in various operational tasks and special projects as required.
Requirements

Qualifications:


Skills and Attributes:

  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • Coursework in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and statistical analysis tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Sophomore or Junior standing is preferred
